Lady Lake Families Love the New Subaru Ascent

And there's no better expression of why it stands out among new Subaru cars and SUVs than the latest spots on the Subaru YouTube channel. From "Dream Big" and "Big Day Out" to "Important Moments," Subaru showcased the new Ascent at its best.

For one, capability, a primary concern of seasoned Lady Lake travelers, was on pronounced display in the first take. Ascent offered no cause for worry there, showing off the powerful drive of a turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine, ready to put out 277 pound-feet of torque and 260 horsepower. Bring standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, a standard X-MODE®, and 8.7 inches of ground clearance into the mix, and you can expect to tack across diverse terrain and through inclement weather confidently, with the dependable steering compensation and turning precision you won't find anywhere else.

Our Lady Lake neighbors also tell us that they're ever on the lookout for exceptional accommodations. These figure prominently in Ascent, as the second spot shows. You can find plenty of room to sprawl out and relax for the ride -- up to 153.5 cubic feet, to be sure, with up to 86.5 for cargo to boot -- in a choice of comfortable cloth, durable, stain-resistant cloth, or sumptuous leather trim. It's optionally heated both up front and in the rear, and front-seat ventilation is available, keeping the cabin ready for nearly any climate. You can even upgrade second-row bench seats to the luxury of captain's chairs.

Of course, taking center stage across the board was the need for a solid safety commitment. With a highly hard-wearing design, the all-new Subaru Global Platform, Ascent more than fit that bill. But this wasn't all the latest SUV had to show for its protective abilities in spot three. Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, for instance, comes standard throughout the Ascent lineup. It can do everything from help you keep the proper distance between you and nearby traffic to remain in your lane and committedly on course, even applying the full force of a pre-collision braking system steer you and the gang clear of an accident.

However, there's plenty more to the new 2019 Subaru Ascent than just these highlights.

  • It can tow from 2,000 to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped, making it easy to take along a pair of recreational vehicles, a small boat, a light towable camper, or even a second vehicle
  • Raised roof rails offer ample room for extras, like kayaks, bicycles, and more
  • The SUV gets excellent fuel economy, up to 21 mpg in cities like Lady Lake and 27 mpg up or down the US-441 highway for adventure
  • 6.5- and 8-inch SUBARU STARLINK&#trade; multimedia infotainment system options with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone connection
  • 4G LTE Wi-Fi capability to keep you connected to the Web off the beaten path
  • Available STARLINK Safety and Security services, including SOS emergency and roadside assistance and automatic collision notification, diagnostic and maintenance alerts, the ability to run a monthly vehicle health report, remote engine start and climate control support, remote lock and unlock capability, concierge services and more
